Choose between a hire-and-drive houseboat adventure or a moored houseboat in Augusta.
Our hire-and-drive options allow you to explore approximately 28 kilometres of the Blackwood River
and Hardy Inlet. If you would rather stay in one location without driving, choose a moored houseboat
with a private jetty.

Hire-and-Drive Houseboat Rates
No skipper’s ticket is required. Every hire-and-drive booking includes a complete operating and safety induction before departure.

What Are the Houseboat Hire Times?
Midweek hire
- Arrive and complete your induction from 1.00 pm Monday
- Return the houseboat by 9.00 am Thursday
Weekend hire
- Arrive and complete your induction from 1.00 pm Friday
- Return the houseboat by 8.30 am Monday
Six-night hire
Arrival dates may be flexible, subject to availability.
Six-night hires are not available over Christmas, New Year or Easter. These holiday periods are offered as four-night packages.

Where Are the Moored Houseboats Located?
Peak-season rates apply from 14 December to 31 January.
Standard-season rates apply from 1 February to 13 December, excluding the Christmas, New Year and Easter holiday periods.
Four-night package rates apply over Christmas, New Year and Easter.
Do I Need a Skipper’s Ticket?
Stay aboard Allira at a private jetty in Augusta without needing to drive or move the houseboat.
Allira: Two to Six Guests
- From $520 per night for two guests
- Additional guests from $50 per person, per night
- Maximum of six guests
- Minimum stay of two nights
- Three cabins
- Private jetty
- Secure parking nearby
- First tank of dinghy fuel included
How Much Deposit Is Required?
A deposit equal to 50% of the booking value is required to secure your dates.
Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to another date when at least 30 days’ notice is provided.
All changes remain subject to availability and the applicable booking conditions.
What Payment Methods Are Accepted?
You can pay by:
- Bank transfer
- Credit card
Credit card payments attract a 1% processing fee.
Is a Security Bond Required?
Yes. A $500 security bond is required as a pre-authorisation on arrival.
The bond requirements and release conditions should be confirmed as part of your booking.
What Additional Costs Should I Allow For?
Hire-and-drive houseboats
- Houseboat fuel used during your stay
- Dinghy fuel used during your stay
- Gas used during your stay
These costs are calculated and charged on departure.
Moored Houseboat
- The first tank of dinghy fuel is included
- Additional dinghy fuel is charged separately

- Ice is available for $5 per bag

Are the Houseboats GPS Tracked?
Yes. The houseboats are GPS tracked for guest safety and the safety of other river users.
All guests must remain within the approved cruising area and follow the operating instructions, maritime laws and safety requirements explained during the induction.
